multiply and screen layers now to get the painting process faster.

after seeing some amazing work from other artist, i decided to put work aside and do some more painitngs.
now im behind again....

follow up on previous delivery man character concept: someone order takeout from the castle.

been having too many thoughts in my head, so just wanted to paint something and get away from daily life. I saw some other peoples painting on the blog and was really amazed by how much they can describe with simple and abstract brush work. I really want to be able to do that!

Vessel: I got to use vacume forming method to create these compound surfaces which would be hard to do with traditional wood working. At the same time, I had the chance to apprentice with a master japanese lacquer artisit, so I just used it to add color and texture to the surface of the form.

Cacoon: bought some speaker wire and decided to make something out of it. thought i make a speaker or light it up some how, but it didnt work out.

Walnut stool: This was inspired from a old chinese temple my grandma use to take me. It was one of the very first project the class have to do, and everyone had to make the project all by hand, but i really enjoy carving and sculpting the shapes and forms.

Box: box making excercise, went through alot to learn about joinery. now I look at it again, I can see it being some building structure or robot for concept work.

Honeycomb: heres some more furniture stuff i made before. metal welding is one of the coolest process, hope to have a chance to make some characters or creature with it in the future.

Walking the dog

The delivery man: starting to do a series of character based on delivering something from point A to point B, hope the story will start to come together as I do more of them.

Pod: this was inspired by a nut shell, with hard protective exterior and soft, smooth interior. I lost my old site, hopefully i can put up a link with more pics of my previous works.

Vitamin b: made these cards for my grad thesis, too bad I have to hand made them, or else i'd give them out.
